Our goal was to take the idea of “la mort” and soften its edges in order to make the imagery more appealing to a wider range of customers. We achieved this by using a bold blackletter typeface and combining it with softer, more elegant supporting fonts. To make sure it still felt authentic to the brand and kept the edgy vibe, we added a grungy texture and an ink bleed effect to the words and illustrations where applicable. Lastly we incorporated a detailed illustration that enhanced the branding with fallen angel imagery in order to incorporate the name in a more palatable way.
